Every home is different. Our approach is not.

Every Life Shelf engagement follows a clear, structured process, from the first conversation to the last box. Your story shapes the details. The structure makes sure nothing important is missed.

What working with us looks like

  1. Start a Conversation

Tell us what is happening at home, what feels stuck, and what you hope will be different. Your first conversation carries no charge and no obligation. We talk by phone, often followed by a visit to your home, and at the end we tell you plainly whether we can help.

  2. A clear plan, in writing

If we are a good fit, we recommend the package that matches your situation. Before anything begins, you receive a written scope with what is included, the timeline, and the price. There are no open-ended hourly bills and no guessing how far the project will go.

  3. The work, at your pace

Fiona leads every engagement in person. We bring the structure, the steady pace, and the next step. You make every decision about what stays, what goes, and what gets passed along. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is decided for you.

  4. Ready for what comes next

You finish with the work complete and a clear picture of what comes next. If more support would help, we can plan a follow-on package. If not, you are done, and you can start a new conversation whenever life changes.

What guides every engagement

Practical help, with space for the hard parts
Sorting a room or preparing for a move is rarely just a task. We keep the work moving while respecting the memories, family dynamics, and feelings that can make it difficult.
Focused on what comes next
The goal is not simply to organize what you have today. It is to create a home that supports the life you are living now, and the one you want next.
What you keep matters
Belongings carry stories, relationships, and family history. We help you decide what stays, what moves forward, and what can be released. Letting go of an object does not mean letting go of its story.
Help without taking over
You stay in charge of every decision. Our job is to make those decisions easier to understand, make, and act on, so you finish feeling more capable, not less.

Built from experience

Fiona Nowlin founded Life Shelf after caring for a close friend through her final months. She brings thousands of hours of caregiving, more than a decade managing enterprise products, a change management certification, and training in project management, product management, and grief and trauma-informed practice, and that background shapes how every engagement is planned and carried out, with professional structure and real human care. Life Shelf is fully insured.

How it feels

Unhurried. There is no right way to let go of something that mattered, and there is no rush. You are treated as a capable adult making intentional choices, not a problem to be solved. Your scope is confirmed in writing before work begins, so you always know what happens next.

Every engagement begins with a conversation.

Your first conversation carries no charge and no obligation. You tell us what is happening at home, and we tell you plainly whether we can help.
